SD man sentenced in Cass County District Court for luringFARGO – A South Dakota man has been sentenced in Cass County District Court to four years in prison after pleading guilty to a felony charge of luring minors by computer.
Michael John Novotny, 63, of Rosholt, was accused of setting up a meeting in August with a Fargo police detective posing as a 14-year-old girl.
Novotny had exchanged texts with the detective he thought was a teen and had planned to meet her at a Burger King in Fargo, court records state.
Novotny’s attorney had recommended a one-year sentence.
Prosecutors requested six years.
