OSHA proposes fine against ND wind blade company

GRAND FORKS — A federal agency proposes $136,500 in penalties against a Grand Forks wind blade manufacturer for alleged violations of workplace health and safety.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration said it cited LM Wind Power Blades Inc. for 11 violations involving workers' exposure to unsafe conditions during an inspection that began in October 2010.

The company has 15 days to contest the citations and penalties or request an informal conference with OSHA.

LM Wind Power did not immediately respond to a message left Monday seeking comment.
