Highway 46 west of Kindred closed due to floodingFARGO — Authorities have closed a mile-long stretch of a major North Dakota state highway because of overland flooding.
Highway 46 west of Kindred is a key east-west route in the southeastern part of the state. The highway connects to Interstate 29 about 15 miles south of Fargo.
Traffic had been moving slowly through the area on Saturday, with the help of flaggers.
Officials urged motorists to drive with caution throughout the area because several other roads are closed due to flooding.
