Two North Dakota Guard units get mobilization ordersBISMARCK — The North Dakota National Guard said two units have received mobilization orders and will deploy overseas later this year.
The 188th Engineer Company of Wahpeton, with a detachment in Oakes, is expected to mobilize in August for deployment to Kuwait.
The unit has about 160 members and specializes in construction work. It will train in Texas before going overseas.
The Guard said about 55 members of the Bismarck-based 1st Battalion, 112th Aviation Regiment also received their mobilization orders and will deploy to Kosovo.
The unit specializes in aviation command and control. It will mobilize in September for training in Indiana before going to Kosovo.
