Griz center garners another post-season honor

MISSOULA, Mont. — Montana center Brian Qvale, who holds Big Sky Conference records for single season and career blocked shots, was named to collegeinsider.com's Mid-Major Defensive All-America team.

Qvale (QUALL'-ee) also was named the league's defensive player of the year after totaling 95 blocked shots this season. He has 247 career blocks.

The Williston, N.D., native led Montana with 14.9 points, 8.8 rebounds and three blocked shots per game as a senior and finished second in the nation in field goal percentage at 62.6 percent.
