Farmer seeks help south of Maple River DamENDERLIN, N.D. – A Cass County Highway Department crew and quick-response team were dispatched Tuesday to assist a farmer who lives just south of the Maple River Dam, about 10 miles northeast of Enderlin on Cass County Road 7.
Cass County Sheriff’s Sgt. Judy Tollefson said the farmer reported floodwater running where it never had before and he was concerned about potential problems from the rising waters.
Crews helped the farmer fortify his sandbag levee, Tollefson said.
“They’re trying to get it shored up before it gets to be a problem,” she said, adding of the farmer: “It’s something he’s never seen before, so he’s a little bit on edge about it.”
