Clay levee to protect Moorhead power plantMoorhead Public Service began constructing a clay levee Monday to protect the Moorhead power plant located along the Red River near Woodlawn Park.
The plant houses electric distribution equipment and provides the community with back-up power generation.
The utility said Moorhead’s plan is to provide electric and water services to customers throughout any flood that may occur.
If a decision is made to disconnect power or shut water off in an area of Moorhead affected by flooding, MPS will issue an official news release through local media.
