Concordia advances five wrestlers to national meet

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – Concordia had a school-record five wrestlers qualify for the NCAA Division III national meet during the Great Lakes Regional on Saturday.

Defending national champion Phil Moenkedick won the 184-pound championship, defeating Dustin Baxter of St. John’s by major decision 14-6.

Other national qualifiers are Ben Presler, Daron Hohbein, Justin Berns and Nathan Schmitz.

Team scores: Augsburg 153.5, St. John’s 125.5, Concordia 124, North Central 90, Elmhurst 85, St. Olaf 71.5, Augustana 54, Chicago 42.5, Lakeland 33, MSOE 28.5, Pacific 19, Wheaton 16, CUW 15.5, Knox 14.5, MBBC .5.
