BISMARCK – North Dakota’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate ticked up a notch in December, but remains the lowest in the nation at 3.8 percent.

That rate is up from 3.7 percent in November. Minnesota’s rate dipped a tenth of a point to 7 percent. Both states saw declines in payrolls last month.

Nationally, the unemployment rate dipped to 9.4 percent from 9.8 percent – the first decline since June. The nation gained about 103,000 jobs in December.
