Coverage of two pastors arrested for DUI excessiveOK, enough already. Fargo has two prominent pastors who made a mistake by driving with a too-high alcohol count. They both acknowledged their mistake and willingly accepted their punishment. Now it’s time to forgive and forget.
The third person arrested in that incident was mentioned and identified in one article, and it was revealed that she had numerous previous convictions. But the two pastors, on a first offense, have had their pictures and articles on the front page twice plus other articles, including being on TV news.
They have been forgiven by their parishioners publicly and have been supported by their bishop. They have suffered enough humiliation.
Although I am not a member of Olivet Lutheran Church in Fargo, I have had a few occasions to benefit from the concern and help of one of these pastors and know personally that he is a fine and caring, law-abiding person. He made a mistake.
These pastors are role models and continue to be so in the way they have accepted the disgrace this incident brought forth.
Now let the person who has never made a mistake continue the criticism.
The quiet is deafening.
