Men's hockey: Deitz helps lift Cobbers past Augsburg on iceMINNEAPOLIS – Pat Deitz scored off a faceoff with less than 1 second to play in the first period Friday at Ed Saugestad Rink. That goal proved to be the difference as Concordia earned a 2-1 victory against Augsburg in Minnesota Intercollegiate Conference men’s hockey.
Nick Thielen also added a goal for Concordia. The Cobbers (7-8-3, 3-3-3 MIAC) have won their past two conference games.
Deitz’s game-winner was his ninth power-play goal this season. The Cobbers play at Augsburg at 2 p.m. today with a chance to earn a weekend sweep.
