Weekend Watch: Winter Carnival
A whole different festival of sounds will ring out at the Fargo Theatre, 314 Broadway, on Saturday night. The Winter Carnival returns for its sixth installment, and this one has more sparkle and buzz than ever before. One-man jam band Heatbox closes the show, but supporting acts like dance band Free Energy, Minne-punks Banner Pilot and popsters The Postelles add extra appeal. Local talents are featured as well, including singer-songwriter Michael Pink, rappers Kipp G & Tony the Butcher, Animal Lover, O’Fosho and comedian Adam Quesnell as well as displays from area artists. The music starts at 3 p.m. and runs until midnight when the secondary theater screens the rockumentary of Motörhead frontman, “Lemmy” – which could be a preview to Motörhead ’s Fargo date in February. Tickets for the Winter Carnival are $15 for this all-ages event. (701) 205-3182.
