Kennedy Elementary sets meeting for parentsKennedy Elementary School parents can meet with Fargo School Board members and district staff 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the school gymnasium to offer input on ways to handle the enrollment growth at the school.
Depending on neighborhood wishes, the school board could be asked to vote on an addition to Kennedy to be built by the time school opens this fall, board President Jim Johnson said.
The board could also opt to change the school’s boundary map by fall 2012 to bring fifth-graders, now attending classes at Discovery Middle School, back to Kennedy.
Kennedy, at 4401 42nd St. S., is expected to open this fall with 710 students, putting it at 129 percent of its capacity, school district records show. In addition to sending fifth-graders to Discovery, portable classrooms are used.
