Women's basketball: DeGagne powers Bison past IUPUI

INDIANAPOLIS – Danielle DeGagne had 22 points, six rebounds and five steals to lift North Dakota State’s women’s basketball team to a

63-58 Summit League win over Indiana University Purdue University-Indianapolis on Monday afternoon.

DeGagne, a 5-foot-10 sophomore guard from Brandon, Manitoba, made 10 of 13 field goals to help the Bison snap a two-game losing streak.

“This win gives us a sense of relief knowing we can come home now for four games,” said NDSU head coach Carolyn DeHoff, whose team will host Oakland (Mich.) and Indiana Purdue-Fort Wayne next Saturday and Monday.

The Bison, 8-9 overall and 4-3 in Summit League play, went on a 21-0 run late in the first half and early in the second half to build a 42-28 lead.

Abby Plucker, who scored 18 points, made four of her six free throws in the final 12 seconds to help secure the win. With her 10 rebounds, Plucker recorded her fifth double-double for the season.

IUPUI, which falls to 3-14 overall and 1-6 in The Summit, suffered its eighth straight loss.
