Dakota MEP, NDSU form partnership

Dakota Manufacturing Extension Partnership and the North Dakota State University College of Engineering and Architecture have formed a new partnership to assist small- to medium-sized manufacturing companies in North Dakota.

The partnership is the result of efforts by Gary Smith, dean of the College of Engineering, Kambiz Farahmand, head of the Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Department, and Dave Lehman, a manufacturing specialist with the NDSU College of Engineering, to develop stronger synergies with Dakota MEP, which has been developing manufacturing companies and the manufacturing industry in North Dakota at the core of its mission.

Lehman will work with inventors and companies to help increase the transfer of knowledge and technology between NDSU and North Dakota manufacturers, and will work with and represent Dakota MEP with the state’s manufacturers.

He will also help companies identify needs and connect them with the appropriate resource within Dakota MEP and NDSU.

Lehman is a graduate of NDSU and the University of North Dakota with degrees in agricultural and biosystems engineering and business administration. He has more than 10 years of experience working in the manufacturing field as an engineer and manager.
