Becker’s Hospital Review includes SanfordSanford Health was named one of the top 15 growing health care systems in the U.S. by Becker’s Hospital Review. Sanford made the list by exhibiting significant growth and making great strides in the past five years.
In 2007, Sanford changed its name from Sioux Valley Health System and two years later merged with MeritCare. Sanford is now the largest employer in North Dakota and South Dakota, with 30 hospitals and a network of clinics serving five states.
Since the merger with MeritCare, Sanford has completed the recruitment of 75 physicians, including the acquisition of the 13-physician Orthopaedic Associates in Fargo. Sanford has also announced plans to acquire the North Country Health Services in Bemidji, Minn., and plans to build a new clinic in Mayville, N.D., and new hospitals in Thief River Falls, Minn., and Fargo.
