F-M diversion lecture at NDSU rescheduled

Dr. G. Edward Dickey will present “A Look at the Fargo-Moorhead Diversion From Inside the Beltway – A Federal Water Project Primer” at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the North Dakota State University Memorial Union’s Century Theater.

The lecture, originally scheduled in December, was postponed due to inclement weather.

During his career working for the federal government, Dickey was responsible for a wide variety of policy, program and project matters relating to federal water management activities, including the planning of new water resource investments for navigation, flood damage reduction, ecosystem restoration and the “Section 404” program.

He was the Corps of Engineers representative on the interagency team that authored the current “Principles and Guidelines,” and he has participated in a wide variety of Corps of Engineers and other public-agency and private-sector training programs, including the Corps’ Economic and Environmental Analysis Conferences in New Orleans in 2002 and Baltimore in 2004.
