Jamestown High naming basketball court after Jerry Meyer

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) — Jamestown High School is naming its basketball court after legendary coach Jerry Meyer.

The Jamestown Sun reports that "Jerry Meyer Arena" will be christened before Saturday's game between Jamestown and Williston. Meyer says it's an honor.

The former high school and college coach led the Blue Jays to four state championships, and Jamestown College to its first North Dakota College Athletic Conference Championship and an appearance in the NAIA basketball tournament.

Meyer won numerous awards during his career and is a member of the North Dakota Sports Hall of Fame.
