Fargo man accused of hitting victim with wooden pole, punching girlfriend in faceFARGO – Police say an argument over a woman resulted in a Fargo man allegedly hitting another man with a wooden pole with such force that the pole broke.
Preston Paul, 41, also is accused of punching his girlfriend in the face, possibly causing broken bones, Fargo Police Sgt. Mark Lykken said.
Officers responding at 8:25 p.m. Thursday to a reported disturbance at 1425 1st Ave. N. heard banging from inside the house and entered the residence.
Paul allegedly hit the 23-year-old male victim with a wooden pole used for hanging coats before striking his girlfriend, Lykken said. Officers arrested Paul on suspicion of aggravated domestic violence and took him to the Cass County Jail.
The two victims were taken by ambulance to Essentia Health in Fargo.
Police also arrested a 23-year-old Fargo man on a warrant, Lykken said.
