90 Lidgerwood students still displaced after fireLIDGERWOOD, N.D. – Lidgerwood students in grades seven through 12 who were displaced by a November fire might not be back in their school until the end of February.
Principal Wayne Hinrichs told KFGO radio that renovation work in the heavily damaged building is ongoing. About 90 students continue to attend classes in temporary quarters in Lidgerwood and nearby Wyndmere.
The school’s elementary wing had less severe damage. Grade-school students returned to classes there last month.
Authorities say an unused stove in a classroom sparked the Nov. 9 blaze in the school in the southeast North Dakota town.
