Three teens hospitalized after Fargo crashFARGO – Slippery roads and a snow bank may have been factors in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday that sent three Fargo teenagers to the hospital.
According to Fargo police:
Matthew Lorenz, 15, of Fargo, was driving southbound on South University Drive at 6:51 p.m. Wednesday when a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Timothy Bjornson tried to exit Atonement Lutheran Church onto northbound University Drive.
Lorenz tried to stop but couldn’t and struck Bjornson’s vehicle.
Bjornson and his passengers, Paige Torgerson, 16, and Mason Vetter, 17, were taken by ambulance to local hospitals.
Sgt. Mark Lykken said the seriousness of the teens’ injuries was unknown, but they were able to talk to police at the hospital. The call to dispatchers stated that one of the male teenagers was stuck in the rear driver-side window.
Bjornson was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
He told police a high snow bank and slippery road surface were contributing factors in the crash, Lykken said.
