Vikings to pick 12th in 2011 draft

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. – The Minnesota Vikings have the 12th pick in the first round of this year’s draft.

The NFL announced the draft order on Monday. It’s based on reverse order of finish, with a tiebreaker based on strength of schedule. The Vikings were one of seven teams with 6-10 records this season, but they’ll select after five of them.

The last time they chose in the top 12 was 2007, when they acquired running back Adrian Peterson with the seventh overall pick.
