Portraits: West Fargo High School art teachers

West Fargo High School art teachers from left, Eric Syvertson, Brenda Luthi and Sarah Dotzenrod are holding a reunion. An artist reunion. Artists – from photographers, painters, graphic designers, tattoo artists and even those involved in art restoration – are invited to participate in the West Fargo High School Second Annual Alumni Show. The free show runs from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at the high school library, 801 9th St. E. It’s an opportunity for the West Fargo alumni

to show off their work and reunite with each other and their teachers. “Art students and teachers establish a family, and it’s hard to see them go and lose track,” Luthi said. “It’s another way to keep track of our ‘kids.’ ” The artists submit two works of art and a biography that will be on display at the high school. “It shows the (current) students there are so many opportunities for art,” Luthi said. “They can still continue doing art whether or not they go into it.” The teachers hope to expand the Alumni Show every year and encourage alumni who had different teachers to participate. Alumni can connect through the West Fargo High School Visual Arts Alumni Facebook group.
