New Year's Eve storm piles up snow in massive swath across region

The second of two blizzards in western Minnesota and eastern North Dakota left behind plenty of snow.

The hardest hit areas in Minnesota were the Crookston and Bemidji, Minn., areas, while a large swath in North Dakota, from Carrington to the South Dakota border, also saw large amounts of snow.

Here are snowfall totals, from 6 a.m. Friday to 6 a.m. today, for selected cities:

North Dakota

Grand Forks, 5.1 inches

Forman, 5 inches

Lidgerwood, 5 inches

Havana, 6 inches

Wahpeton (12 miles northwest), 5.5 inches


Breckenridge, 6 inches

New York Mills, 3 inches

Red Lake Falls, 8 inches

Rothsay, 6 inches

Sebeka, 5 inches

Underwood (8 miles northeast), 4.5 inches
