Father, son in van crash released from hospitalGRAND FORKS – The father and son injured in a collision of a semitrailer and a van near here have been released from a hospital.
Kevin Boyer Jr., 39, and his 3-year-old son, Xxaxx (pronounced Zax), were released from Altru Hospital. Kaylee-Jo Marie Wyatt, 8, and Kevin Boyer III, 5, both passengers in the van driven by Boyer, were killed in the crash Wednesday.
Truck driver Steven Nelson of Jamestown was treated and released from the hospital on Wednesday.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol turned in a report to Grand Forks County State’s Attorney Peter Welte, who said he would decide whether to charge anyone in the accident.
Meanwhile, a fund for the family of the two young children killed in the crash has been set up at Alerus Financial. Donations can be dropped off at the bank’s main Grand Forks office downtown or mailed to the Alerus Financial addressed to the Boyer Family Benefit Fund, PO Box 6001, Grand Forks, ND 58206.
A funeral for the two children killed will be Wednesday.
