Fargo store sells $1 million Powerball ticketBISMARCK – A North Dakotan scored big on Saturday night with a Match Five Powerball with Power Play prize worth $1 million.
The winning ticket, sold at Holiday Station Store No. 96 at 3040 25th St. S. in Fargo, was claimed today at the lottery office in Bismarck, according to a news release.
The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, said in the release it was shocking to find out he had matched five numbers. “I almost fell out of my chair!” He said the money will be used to buy a new van, support their children and supplement retirement funds.
Since the lottery’s introduction in 2004, North Dakota Lottery players have won 25 Match Five Powerball prizes. A Match Five Powerball with Power Play prize is automatically $1 million, regardless of the multiplier.
