Sanford to expand in Moorhead with new clinicMOORHEAD – Sanford Health this morning announced plans for a new clinic that it says will significantly increase medical services for people in Moorhead.
The clinic will sit on 24.5 acres adjacent to the new Interstate 94 and 34th Street interchange on the south side of Horizon Shores, which will be a convenient site for patients, Sanford said in a news release.
“The clinic will be uniquely Moorhead in terms of scale and design and will offer an architectural gateway to the community from the east,” Dr. Bruce Pitts, president of Sanford Clinic, stated in the release. “We are working closely with leaders from the city of Moorhead, Clay County and our local patients to ensure we are building a facility that will provide a wide range of services to the area for years to come.”
Sanford says the clinic is in the early planning stages, with patients being surveyed at its current Moorhead clinic to better understand what types of services, amenities, hours and other factors will be most beneficial.
A timeline for construction hasn’t been set, but the clinic is expected to open in the next few years, the news release stated.
Sanford opened its first Moorhead clinic in 1985 and currently has three facilities in the city, including a clinic, FastTrack and pharmacy.
The health provider says it chose to locate the clinic in southeast Moorhead because it’s the fastest-growing part of town.
