Breckenridge business loses Minnesota sales tax permitST. PAUL - The Minnesota Department of Revenue recently revoked the sales tax permit of Ottertail Creek Lodgings of Breckenridge for failing to file and pay sales taxes to the state.
The business, which operates out of the Select Inn at 821 Highway 75 N., allegedly owes the state more than $58,000, according to a Department of Revenue news release.
The agency claims the motel failed to pay sales taxes for periods between June 2009 and January 2010.
If a person or company makes retail sales in Minnesota after revocation of their Minnesota sales tax permit, the action is considered a felony under Minnesota law, the agency stated.
