'Ted E. Bear' arrives at Sanford Children's Hospital in Fargo
The first “Ted E. Bear” of the 2010 season was given to 11-year-old oncology patient Sadie Harig on Monday.
An anonymous donor began sending the handmade teddy bears to Sanford around 1993, shortly after the hospital was first designated a children’s hospital in 1986.
The annual tradition has continued with the return address of “Ted E. Bear, Horace, ND” and a simple request: “please give to a child in need.” Traditionally, Ted E. Bears continue to arrive at North Dakota’s only chil-dren’s hospital throughout the holiday season.
