Metrodome roof repair on hold for safety concerns

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Work to repair the roof of the Metrodome in Minneapolis is on hold out of concern that other panels could give way under the weight of snow and ice.

A fourth roof panel gave way Wednesday night. Three other sections failed early Sunday under the weight of a blizzard.

Facilities director Steve Maki says officials can't say how many other panels are at risk of failing. Maki says a plan is being worked out to remove snow from the rest of the roof.

There's still no timetable for when the roof will be fixed.
