Women's basketball: Abel’s 18 points lead Duquesne over Bison

PITTSBURGH – Vanessa Abel hit 8 of 11 shots from the field on her way to a game high 18 points to lead Duquesne to a 64-48 win over North Dakota State in women’s basketball on Sunday before 764 fans.

Bison guard Hannah Linz made 4 of 8 3-point shots to lead NDSU with 15 points. Fellow guard Katie Birkel chipped in 13 points.

Janae Burich also blocked four shots and collected eight rebounds for the Bison (5-4).

NDSU shot just 29 percent (17-for-59) from the field for the game.
