Southwest Fargo needs dog facilityI am writing to express my concerns for the lack of recreational facilities for the dogs of southwest Fargo. With all the new expansion in West Fargo, the population has increased immensely. With the population increasing, so is the number of family household pets, including dogs.
I live in this part of Fargo and watch people every day walking and running their dogs, even in this frigid cold weather. These dogs need a place near their homes where they can run around and burn off their energy without having to be on a leash.
Yes, I am aware that Fargo has dog parks, but there is no need for people to have to drive across town just to exercise their dogs. Our pets are just like us, and if we have access to gyms within two miles of each home, then dogs should have around the same availability.
Taking a bit of taxpayer money to build a fence around a patch of land would benefit humans as well as canines.
