Devils Lake bans smoking in city vehiclesDEVILS LAKE, N.D. – The Devils Lake City Commission has banned smoking in city vehicles.
The Devils Lake Journal reports that the move came at the suggestion of Mayor Dick Johnson, who said it was hypocritical to have a ban on smoking in public places while still allowing employees to smoke in city-owned vehicles.
The commission on Dec. 20 is expected to have a final vote on the smoking ban in public places including bars. City voters on Nov. 2 indicated their support for a ban, with about 58 percent in favor in the advisory vote.
