Bison win today could secure another home playoff game

It may not be known to Bison football players before taking the field today, but North Dakota State University could host another home playoff game this season.

That’s if the Bison win against Eastern Washington University.

In a game of interest to NDSU fans and players, the defending FCS national champion Villanova Wildcats knocked off top-seeded Appalachian State this afternoon.

Villanova finished the regular season with a 7-4 record, including a win against Delaware in the Wildcats final regular season game. Delaware (11-2) advanced to next week’s semifinals by beating the University of New Hampshire on Friday night.

This afternoon, the Wildcats beat Appalachian State 42-24 in a game that ended about five minutes before kickoff for the NDSU-EWU game in Cheney, Wash.

If the Bison win, it’s possible NDSU would host Villanova in next’s semifinals and the right to play for the national championship.
