High praise for NDSU Coach BohlCraig Bohl has done an outstanding job coaching this experienced and young North Dakota State University Bison football team this year. Might be weird to say experienced and young, but several starting football players are either freshmen or seniors. It takes a special coach to mold that talent, especially from different age groups. It’s one thing to win playoff games with all seniors; it’s completely a different level when you win with players that might still be “a little green.”
This is a team that was picked sixth (yes, sixth) in the Missouri Valley Conference. This is a team that is on its way to the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision quarterfinals and is beginning to click on all cylinders like the Bison that dominated Division II.
A special season could be in the works here. A win in Cheney, Wash., vs. Eastern Washington University might just make the entire nation watch Bison football.
Bohl has made a strong case for FCS coach of the year (and maybe the most underappreciated coach).
Embrace Bison football, folks (I’m an admirer from afar). Congratulations to North Dakota State University.
