PSC OKs settlement in Fargo gas explosionBISMARCK – The North Dakota Public Service Commission on Wednesday unanimously approved a settlement agreement with North States Power Co. in relation to a 2008 gas explosion in south Fargo leveled a home and left one woman badly burned.
The commission approved the agreement that requires NSP (also known as Xcel Energy) to pay a $10,000 civil penalty. However, Xcel does not admit or deny it committed a violation.
The cause of the explosion at 2215 15th St. S. is also not addressed in the agreement.
PSC Chairman Kevin Cramer said there were no changes in the agreement since the latest draft in November.
“It’s good to get this one behind us and move forward now,” Cramer said.
