Frontier to wait on expansion decisionThe Frontier Conference has decided to wait until February to make a decision on expansion.
At their winter meetings Tuesday, athletic directors and presidents from the nine league schools chose to hold off on approving Dickinson State as a full member and Menlo College (Calif.) and Southern Oregon as associate members in football.
Jamestown College has applied as an associate member in football only, but has told Frontier officials it would be willing to explore full membership if the terms are feasible.
Officials from those four schools have been invited to meetings Feb. 6-8 in Billings, Mont., to discuss their applications to join the conference. NAIA President and CEO Jim Carr is also expected to be at those meetings.
“My stance has always been is that I’d like to be at any table where a possible solution to our future home is going to be discussed,” Jamestown College athletic director Lawrie Paulson said.
