North Dakota agencies ordered to fly flag at half-staff for Pearl Harbor Remembrance DayGov. John Hoeven has directed all government agencies to fly the United States and North Dakota flags at half-staff on Tuesday in honor of those who lost their lives serving this nation at Pearl Harbor.
The Governor’s directive is in accordance with a proclamation issued by the President designating December 7 National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
“On this Remembrance Day, we honor the more than 2,400 American lives that were lost in defense of this nation at Pearl Harbor, and recognize the veterans who, with courage and perseverance, changed the course of history during World War II,” Hoeven said in a news release issued today. “When it mattered most, an entire generation of patriots stepped forward to secure our way of life, driven by the heroism and resolve that defined that fateful day at Pearl Harbor.”
