A holiday gift

Moorhead’s St. Joseph School invites the public to the musical production “Holiday in Bethlehem” at noon and 7 p.m. Dec. 16 in the school gymnasium.

The 45-minute show is free as a gift to the community, organizers say.

The school is at 1005 2nd Ave. S.

“Holiday in Bethlehem” is the biblical story of Mary and Joseph going from inn to inn and being turned away until finally being allowed to stay in a stable.

St. Joseph’s is a parochial school with grades Preschool through eighth grade.

Focus on real beauty

The Lake Park Audubon (Minn.) Family Career and Community Leaders of America hosted an evening of fun, self-appreciation and goal planning on Nov. 23.

Thirty girls in grades 7-11 attended the event, which used the “Dove Campaign for Real Beauty” curriculum.

LP-A High School leaders Maria Veit, Kelsey Anderson, Andrea Knudsvig, Marley McDunn, Sam Anglin and Kim Aleksic planned and implemented the event.

The FCCLA members plan to expand parts of the lessons to the upper elementary grades and collaborate on the school’s anti-bullying program.
