Wonderful article by sports writerI rarely read the sports pages, but the feature article on Thanksgiving Day caught my eye. Reporter Ryan S. Clark’s story on Barnesville, Minn., senior running back Zach Hochhalter was beautifully written. I had tears rolling down my face before I finished reading it.
Zach’s loss of his mother from brain cancer and the team and community support captured the meaning of Thanksgiving. The white stickers with his mother’s initials on each helmet demonstrated an outpouring of love for the young man who had to grow up before his time.
Thank you for giving us that story, and congratulations, Barnesville Trojans, for your second-place finish in the Minnesota championship game. It would have made Zach’s mom smile.
