South Dakota woman suspected of shooting her husbandNEW UNDERWOOD, S.D. (AP) — South Dakota authorities investigating the shooting death of an Ellsworth Air Force Base airman have arrested the man's wife as a suspect.
Pennington County Sheriff's Lt. Marty Graves says 27-year-old Amanda Kaur was arrested around midday Wednesday along a county highway a few miles east of Ellsworth in southwest South Dakota.
Kaur is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder in connection with the death of 26-year-old Ira Kaur. He was found at the couple's home in New Underwood Sunday with gunshot wounds.
Ira Kaur was a staff sergeant assigned to the Air Force Financial Services Center at Ellsworth. The military pay technician had worked at Ellsworth since August 2007. He was originally from Arizona.
Amanda Kaur is originally from North Dakota and was being held in jail Wednesday afternoon.
