‘Freedom Salute’ slated for soldiers in BismarckBISMARCK – A group of 47 North Dakota National Guard soldiers who spent a year in Iraq will be formally thanked during a “Freedom Salute Ceremony” at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the Army Aviation Support Facility, 3410 Airway Ave. in Bismarck.
The Bismarck-based Company C, 2nd Battalion, 285th Aviation Regiment mobilized in October 2009 and returned home Sept. 28.
Among Sunday’s speakers will be Gov. John Hoeven and Maj. Gen. David Sprynczynatyk, the North Dakota Guard commander. The public is invited to attend.
