20-year-old Fargo man taken to hospital after smoking synthetic marijuana

FARGO – Fargo police will forward reports to prosecutors after a 20-year-old Fargo male reported being ill after smoking synthetic marijuana.

The man called police about 3:45 p.m. Monday from an apartment in the 1100 block of 16th Street North, police said.

He was taken by ambulance to Sanford Medical Center, said Sgt. Mark Lykken.

Police did not release the man’s name or his condition.

While police were responding to the medical assist, they saw about 12 small marijuana plants in plain sight, Lykken said.

Police arrested a 19-year-old Fargo man on suspicion of manufacturing marijuana.

He was taken to the Cass County Jail but released after prosecutors declined to charge him at this time.

Assistant Cass County State’s Attorney Gary Euren said he declined to file charges because the investigation is ongoing. He, along with other individuals were named in the reports, could face charges in the future, Euren said.
