Overwhelmed by shoppers, Wis. Toys 'R' Us calls cops for helpGRAND CHUTE, Wis. - Toy store officials in Grand Chute had to call police after getting overwhelmed with shoppers.
A line of several thousand wrapped entirely around the Toys R Us building Thursday night.
Moments before the store opened at 10 p.m., the line of those who'd just arrived and line of those who'd waited many hours overlapped.
The store's staff quickly became overwhelmed when they opened the doors, but then locked the door and called police.
Police suggested the store line up shopping carts turned upside down to thwart line-jumpers.
Staffers reopened the doors and let customers in 50 at a time without any more problems.
Store manager Chad Wojcik tells The Post-Crescent that he plans to use the carts again next year.
