North Dakota National Guard soldiers to return home soonBISMARCK – Officials say 72 North Dakota National Guard soldiers will be returning home soon after yearlong deployments overseas.
The soldiers, who are part of the 1-188th Air Defense Artillery Battalion based in Bismarck, have spent the past year running radar systems to support operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Gov. John Hoeven said the soldiers should return home within a couple of weeks once they finish final processing at Fort Hood, Texas.
One group of eight soldiers was based in Iraq. Two other groups of soldiers were based in different parts of Afghanistan.
