White Earth woman identified as crash victim

A person killed in a car crash in Mahnomen County on Friday evening has been identified.

Anna Levy, 33 of White Earth, Minn., was killed when her vehicle hit another car head-on and burst into flames upon impact.

According to the Minnesota Highway Patrol, Levy was burned severely and her body was sent to the Ramsey County coroner’s office for identification.

Levy was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 59, just north of Waubun, Minn., when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a northbound 1991 Cadillac Deville driven by Larry Rettmann of Belview, Minn.

Rettmann, 59, was not injured in the accident, which happened about 7:30 p.m. Friday.
