Oil-filled wine bottles being sold in North Dakota townsWILLISTON, N.D. – Wine bottles filled with oil are being sold at gas stations in Tioga and Stanley to raise money for local charities.
The bottles labeled “Bakken Formation Wine, Vintage 100 million years” sell for $10 apiece. Bakken refers to the shale formation that has become a huge oil-producer in North Dakota.
Tioga Cenex Manager Diane Clark told the Williston Herald that 1,000 bottles were made and they’re selling fast.
