Bail set for Grand Forks man charged with beating sisterGRAND FORKS, N.D. - Bond was set at $3,000 Thursday for a Grand Forks man accused of knocking his sister unconscious.
Abdifatah Issa, 20, faces a charge of aggravated assault.
A police report says Issa and his 22-year-old sister started fighting Wednesday in a hallway of the Grand Forks apartment building where they live.
The report says Issa’s sister was pulling his hair and would not let go. Issa then kneed her in the head several times, and she eventually fell to the floor, the report states.
A caller reported that Issa’s sister was unresponsive and was lying in the hallway, police said.
Officers responded to the apartment, and Issa’s sister was taken to Altru Hospital. She was not a patient there Thursday evening.
Issa was arrested at the apartment building and booked into the Grand Forks County jail. A message left for him there was not returned.
Issa has been ordered to have no contact with his sister if he’s released. He has a preliminary hearing set for Dec. 10.
