Galleria fund garners $25,000-plus so farThe United Way of Cass-Clay announced Thursday that it has raised more than $25,000 for the long-term needs of those involved in the Galleria On 42nd apartment fire in October.
The fund has gathered $25,637, and United Way of Cass-Clay plans to begin reviewing victims’ applications next week to decide where funds will be distributed.
Not only have area residents donated, but donations came from eight states and more than 154 individual donors and events.
The Cass-Clay Long Term Unmet Needs Committee will meet Tuesday to verify the former apartment residents’ needs and applications. The committee is co-led by United Way of Cass-Clay and Bonnie Turner, Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota’s Lutheran Disaster Relief Coordinator.
The fund was launched on Oct. 12 to help residents of the Galleria Apartment fire address unmet needs that remain after insurance claims have been processed.
