Break-in suspect leaves phone behindPolice were looking for a suspect in a break-in reported shortly before 5 a.m. Monday in south Fargo.
The 21-year-old victim told police that shortly before the break-in, an acquaintance began texting him and calling him, Sgt. Mark Lykken said.
The victim, who lives with his parents in the 1200 block of 48th Avenue South, told police he heard pounding on his basement egress window. As the victim left the bedroom and went upstairs, he heard the window break, Lykken said. The victim confronted the suspect on the stairs, and the suspect left out the egress window, he said.
The victim knew the suspect and provided officers with his name. The suspect also left his cell phone behind, Lykken said.
The suspect could face criminal trespass charges, he said.
